About me!
Hello! My name is Deanna Hurtado and I am an educator from San Diego, California. I am married to my high school sweetheart, and I am the mother of three beautiful babies named Aaron, Zoe and Nala. As a family, we enjoy swimming, taking walks at the beach, and eating Italian food.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
In 2009 I obtained a Multiple Subject credential with an emphasis in Bilingual
Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (BCLAD). I have eleven years of teaching experience and have previously taken the role of a mentor teacher, participant of the Instructional Leadership Team, member of the Curriculum and Assessment Committee, and student international travel lead teacher. My goal is to foster a rigorous learning environment in which students can construct their own knowledge through exploration, reasoning, and reflection in preparation for 21st century demands. SDSU's Master of Arts in Mathematics Education Program has helped me to acquire extensive insight on how to incorporate rigorous, relevant, and innovative learning experiences in the classroom.
